Introduction about fiberglass sleeve and their industrial uses

Fiberglass sleeve are everywhere in the electrical devices we have been using in our offices, home and in the vehicle also. Fiberglass sleeve is involved in our daily life serve very silently with the electronic gadgets and equipments we are using.

Most of you have seen fiberglass sleeve as the thin covering over the wire inside electrical goods, specially inside those who generate good amount of heat like iron press, water geyser, electric cattle, microwave oven, refrigerator, air conditioning, blowers, ceiling fan and many more.

Fiberglass sleeve also uses as quality insulator inside wiring to protect them with run across and prevent from shock circuit. It works even when the wire gets highly heated during the uses. You can see this inside almost every electrical goods as wire protecting shield, seems like white or gray color braided piece of fibre.

Manufacturing of fiberglass sleeve:

It is really good to see that how a fibreglass sleeve braiding machine sewing or weaving fibreglass threaded together and produce fiberglass sleeve very quickly. Process is very similar as our grandmother was weaving woollen socks on her days.

High temperature heat resistant fiberglass braided and knitted sleeve:

Commonly use for wire, cable and house protection providing thermal insulation and protection to personnel in the case of hot hoses and tubing. The braid angle allows the braided sleeve to expand somewhat and that it easily slip over connectors or placeless of cable and hoses. Netted sleeve dose not the expendable capability as braided sleeve dose. Netted sleeve are designed to hug the object that it covering tighter than braided sleeve.

The sleeve is produced with several specifications to serve temperature 1200 degree Fahrenheit or 648 degree centigrade. You can also double sleeve or triple sleeve objects to achieve the layer of insulation that you need for the protection or insulation volume that you looking for.

Sleeve is also coated with silicone rubber available as fire sleeve. Industrial fibreglass sleeve has netted substrate and aerospace fire sleeve has the braided substrate.
