Fiberglass Sleeve How it helping in Industrial Applications

You might be familiar with braided fiber sleeve very common in industries especially in aerospace, oil and refinery, food processing, automobile, thermal power plants and many other industries dealing with high pressure and heat. Fiberglass sleeve have brooder industrial applications, dealing with the high temperature heat, exposed to intense fire conditions. In addition to being applicable for use in aerospace applications by meeting requirements, braided fiber sleeve is also commonly used in Automotive, Maritime, Locomotive, Heavy Equipment and Petrochemical industries.

Fire retardant Fiberglass sleeving is coated with Silicon are flexible, Fiber Sleeving is designed to protect hoses, wires and cables from the hazards of intense heat and occasional direct flame, coated with a high-grade, fully-cured silicone rubber. Resistant to hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, and fuels, fiber sleeve insulates against energy loss in piping and hosing, protects employees from burns and provides flame and molten splash resistant protection for wires, hoses, and cables.

Braided Fiberglass Sleeve:

Sleeve is braided with high-quality Type E fiberglass yarns. Fiberglass sleeve will not burn and is suitable for use in applications with temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C). Braided fiberglass sleeves provide flexibility, durability, and thermal containment. This sleeving can be heat treated or coated with vermiculite, PTFE, graphite, or acrylic saturant.

Knitted Fiberglass Sleeve:

Knitted fiberglass sleeve provides exceptional thermal protection and containment. With excellent flexibility, applications with bends or other obstructions are a good fit for this sleeving. The knitted construction allows neat, easy field-cutting. Knitted fiberglass sleeve can typically be provided in longer bulk lengths than braided due to the manufacturing process, thereby minimizing material handling & wastage and maximizing process productivity.

Silica Sleeve:

Tetraglas 3000® sleeve is braided using amorphous silica yarns. Silica sleeve will not burn and is suitable for use in continuous temperatures to 1800°F (980°C). This product is only available with a 1/16” wall thickness. Vermiculite coating can be applied for increased abrasion resistance.
