Fiberglass Sleeving And It’s Applications

Fiberglass sleeving are widely acceptable in the industry like chemical, petroleum, food processing and manufacturing  as ultimate solution for heat resistance.

Resin Coated Braided Fiberglass Sleeving:

It is one of the extreme category of Fiberglass Sleeving capable to deal with the temperature up to 1,200°F. Insultherm is an extremely high temperature resistant sleeve commonly used as thermal protection for wires, cables and hoses that are subjected to continuous and extreme high temperature environments, such as engine manifolds and exhaust systems.

Insultherm is braided from fiberglass yarns and saturated with high temperature resins that improve the product's stability and minimize irritating fiberglass dusting during cutting and installation. The sleeving is tough and durable, maintaining its tight structure under extreme vibration, abrasion, mechanical stress and temperature variations.

Insultherm is available in a wide range of diameters. It cuts cleanly with scissors and installs easily over a variety of applications to either deflect or retain heat in environments up to 1,200°F.

Silicone Rubber Fiberglass Sleeving:

Silicone rubber Fiberglass Casing (English name: Silicone rubber Fiberglass Sleeving), also known as fire-resistant casing, high-temperature casing, high purity alkali-free glass fiber prepared into the tube, and then in the tube outside the wall coating silicone through vulcanization treatment. After vulcanization can be used in the temperature range of 65 °c C-260 °c for a long time and maintain its soft and elastic properties.

Types of Fiberglass sleeving and it’s Uses:

These sleeves are widely used in various applications such as Insulators, Electrical Winding Insulation, Winding Wire Coating Insulation, Electrical Base, Shell, Motor, Switch Baseplate etc. Mainly it is categorised in three types, as shown below.
  • E-Class which comes with Polyvinyl Chloride Resin: These are used in a lot of sectors like chemical industry, electrical, electronics, petroleum, oil pipelines, construction, etc.
  • F-Class which is coated with Varnish: Mainly used in petroleum industries, these are highly resistant to temperature changes.
  • H-Class that is coated with Silicone: These are widely used in domestic appliances.
